      December 2025

​

  • PUSD passed Resolution 2852 to establish "optimal school size" by grade level. 

  • The Board directed the Superintendent to "monitor schools that fall below" a certain enrollment threshold, which would lead to a "District Transformation Plan." 

       January 2026

​

  • The District entered into a $230,000 consulting agreement with Total School Solutions, which specializes in closing schools, to lead the Superintendent Consolidation Advisory Committee (SCAC) meetings.

  • To date, the SCAC has removed certain schools from the list of schools to be considered for closure.

      March 2026

​

  • Thurgood Marshall Secondary School, remains under consideration for closure by the SCAC.

  • The SCAC can recommend to not close schools, to close specific schools, or to delay the process, and will make its final recommendations in May 2026.  ​

The PUSD Board is scheduled to vote on the SCAC Committee recommendations on June 25, 2026.
